Title: Total conversion WIP.....

....... why does that title sound so familiar?  :p

anyways, this will NOT be like my title, i intend to start this and finish this. And for the basic storyline:

The year is 2574. Humans have expanded their borders well past the borders from FS2. The Terran Military Federation controls most of this, though there is a number of individual planets controlled by large pirvate companies and the like. You take the place of Jarik Stiller, an 18 year old pilot straight out of the Academy. You are stationed aboard the TMF Galaga, first of the new Battlecarrier class of the same name. As a member of the 12th strike wing, you will be taking on task such as recon, assault, heavy assault, depot raids, convoy raids, and strike missions against enemy capital ships. Currently, the TMF (lol, i just realized what the acronym was) is engaged against a band of pirates that are causing trouble in the Antares system, but much bigger things are brewing............

I intend this mod to have:
to have 2 species, but several styles of ships (TMF, pirate/criminal, and THE MAIN ENEMY)
A tight storyline that i *hope* will NOT have too many plotholes
Immersive characters and enviroments
several episodes, totaling some 30 missions (i know, i know, but they're going to be released in EPISODES)
all in all, what every modder wants

i DO NOT intend it to have:
voice acting
cutscenes
Or much of anything that represents a well poilished mod  ;)

Soon as i get home, im gonna get modellin on the Stalker scoutfighter, the Genesis light bomber, and the Dragon Assault fighter.

1. If this mod takes place in the FS universe (which is what I understood from your post), it isn't really a total conversion.

2. We've seen these topics a lot. You'd make a better first impression if you first did something, like models, missions and such, then started a thread about your mod and release something that you've already finished. I just have a bad feeling that you, like many others, have these humongous plans for this and that but you'll get bored after a month or so and the mod dies a horrible, yet discrete death..

Srry, it is NOT in freespace universe, i just needed something to compare it too. and also, i will SOON have something to show for it, plus i have one of my friends from school coming in to help lol. (what, you guys thought i didn't have any?)

Ok, i have something to show for this mod, though not much, but look at this:
my first multipart turret
AND:
i finnally figured out how to do screenshots!  :D
dont worry; those colors are only there so the turret and such stands out from the actual ship
also, i have a question: is it possible to have a turret that only its ARM moves?

Sorry for the triple post, but i dont have hosting so i can only save pics as attachments.
anyways........ here the other main turret, gonna be 5 of these on each side, meant to be rapid firing MG-like anti-cap lasers. Meant to only turn up and down, thus my question in my previous post. You can tell how heavily influenced by scooby i am. thanks man, you ROCK.
and also, i forgot to mention, this mod has NO beamz. sorry people, but its better this way.
P.S. do you think i should make the barrels longer? btw, these aren't meant to do serious damage to the enemy ship. first off, they are meant to mainly deter the enemy, ruin subsystems, and allow marines to board the ship. (i know, it sounds almost pirate like, but TMF always captures enemy ships whenever they can. dont wory, im also going to be putting on heavy missile turrets inbetween these turrets, to still give the broadsides some serious KICK)

EDIT: ok, got the turrets put on one side, changed all the names, so if someone wanted to they could POF it with (i think) working turrets now, take a look

Good luck Titan, I wish I had the opportunity to make a whole new mod when I was your age... err... I'm only 3 years older, but enthusiasm dries up fast. In fact, you've probably closer to release than MT! :p Don't depend on the rest of the community for help, modding is something that you do for yourself. Don't worry if Goob says you have "the attention span of a goldfish", you're younger than anyone else here and you have plenty of time.

As for your questions, can't answer many of them, never got into modeling myself. But there are a few.

Not AFAIK, the arms are subobjects that only move with the base.

No problem. You can just overload everyone with new models and eye candy and noone will care about the plot- example Inferno. ;)

lol. well, its time for dinner were i live (my family eats really early, 'round 5 o'clock.) so im loggin for the night. thanks  for the support mustang. *yawn* g'night

EDIT: i CANT overload them with new stuff, cuz, frankly, i SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! but hopefully, i will be able to make this awesome hangar im thinkin off work. can you say: star in this big chamber, fly out of a tunnel that spews you out of the ship?

Alright, he's 11 years old and we have a lot of people in their thirties who are afraid of even presenting a basic model. If Titan sticks with this he'll have a lot of experience in time.

ok, anyways, as i wait for tiger to come over to my house so i can introduce him to freespace, along with the disco mission from JAD2 ( :D FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and truespace, i decided to take a lil break from the Galaga and work on the rapier, the biggest Human vessel in the game

as it will not include a huge ship/weapon of doom, as it is both beyond my abilities and even if i could make one i wouldn't
anyways, here it is in solid and wireframe views, and yes, in game im goin to make it deimos black, but with different patterns.

and i will get to work putting the big railgun (which is just my name for a bigger version of the big green SCP blob turret) turrets onto the bottom now.

You use brackets, not colons, and inside of the first bracket on the end of the tag, you need a slash.
