Title: Resolution problems; Vista-related?
Post by: Agent_Koopa on October 02, 2007, 04:32:24 pm
I'm reinstalling the game on a new Vista laptop, and I've decided to start up the FSPort. When I do, I notice that the game has opened in a positively tiny resolution (I got a warning from my firewall, so it showed me the desktop). Now, this shouldn't be. FS2 is perfectly capable of running in 1024x768, but I'm only running in 1290x800. There shouldn't be so much stretching. When I exit, I can see that the area is about a quarter of my screen size. What's up?

You are running FSO in 1024x768, not 640x480, right?

I wasn't aware the option existed.

In the Launcher... IIRC, under the video tab... it should be set to 1024x768 32 bit.  You can also specify your own rez IIRC.

Also check that you have sparky_hi_fs2.vp in your main FS2 folder while you're at it. JR2's probably got the correct answer as FS2_Open defaults to 640x480 but missing that file would also result in a horribly low resolution screen.
