Just downloaded 3.2 Base, the single missions pack, and Raider Wars. I'm downloading 3.4 right now. Checked out one of the single player missions and everything looks great! Thanks guys; been looking for a B5 game for a while!
-
Great. Just don't go installing 3.4 over 3.2.
And I just read the other thread you started. Why on Earth are you interested in cheating? Cheating is for the weak. You really don't need any cheats in TBP and as far as I know, there aren't even any cheats for TBP. That is, unless the standard FS2 cheats work.
-
There is a cheat for Raider Wars in mission 1 that unlocks most of the player flyable ships in the campaign. It involves ordering one of your ships to guard one of the jumpgate arms.
-
Sounds funky. I'll give it a try when I actually get to the part where I reinstall TBP. But I shouldn't do that right now. Got two math exams and several exercises coming.
-
Umm... FreeSpace2 cheats work, unless they specifically disabled them for TBP.
-
Yeah. that mission where you rescue the freighter in the asteroid field was near impossible without them
-
that mission ? it's extremly easy...
-
Yeah. Or actually it was challenging the last time I played 3.2, when the 'Gold wing' asteroids really exploded, usually taking me and/or my wingmen with it. But with 3.4, just a basic 'protect ships from asteroids mission.
-
Thats my point those buggers killed me about 50 times before i managed to beat the thing without cheats. Yes this was on 3.2
-
does it matter which ship? i have one fighter protecting each arm

:necro:
does it matter which ship? i have one fighter protecting each arm
I think it may have been one of Beta Wing... Cant remember...Open up the Mission in FRED2 to find out

i tried on FRED2 and FRED2 INF and both of the FRED2 debug programs, this is all i got

You can't load a VP into FRED. You have to extract the missions first. There are tools to do that in my FAQ.

*facepalms* prehaps i should have looked at his post count so i knew i was talking to a HLP Nugget.
I'll also take this opportunity to mention that i suffer from a wierd bug in my copy of TBP 3.4 > When i enter the FS2 cheat code "www.freespace2.com" as soon as i hit the "m" it causes the game to crash. Whether this is a deliberate anti-cheat device or something screwy on my account i dont know. the TBP team gave me only sarcastic replies when i asked

i tried the cheats for the dark children campaign after i finished it the first time. i couldn't get any of them to recognize.
-
you know what look up FreeSpace 2 on gamefaqs.com that will tell you about FS cheats
-
if you edit an fs2 file for a campaign with VPVIEW and FRED2, how can you add those changes to the campaign itself. i can't seem to import the edited fs2 file into the campaign VP file
-
i can't seem to import the edited fs2 file into the campaign VP file
Don't even try. Modifying existing .vp files is a crime almost as severe as killing puppies. Place the edited mission file to \thebabylonproject\data\missions .

If the directory doesn't exist then create it
