Do you mean Age of Empires 2? I haven't heard of Age of Emprice 2. And youre post isn't very clear either.

Don't be too cranky, lenard. Wouter has, in several occasions, demonstrated that English isn't quite his cup of tea.
But, to the problem. You said that you don't have a firewall in your router, which would translate into not having a hardware firewall. But, do you have a software firewall? Meaning a program that is a firewall, which monitors your Internet traffic? That might prevent Age of Empires from getting a connection. Sometimes it might be necessary for you to ope the firewall and manually tell it to allow a certain program, like Age of Empires, to connect to the outside world.

You may need to forward your ports. Try re-installing it, back-up your saved games first, though
I lost my AoE 2 disk years ago, but still have the Conquerors Expansion.

Wait, someone actually likes AoE II?
:wakka:

I loved Age of Empire 2.... far better than warcraft or starcraft which bored me to death.

If it is the firewall, it may be as simple as alt-tabbing out of AoE 2 and allowing it access to the internet. And I love AoE2, I still play it occasionally. It's AoE3 that sucks
