Title: Problem with FSO
Post by: Titan on October 04, 2007, 09:26:55 am
my friend, tiger, installed it last night, and after waiting an hour for it to install, he starts the game, and gets an error message, he was vague when he told me, but he said it said something about it having to be installed. i dunno what his comp has, dunno what he should do, and if he has to reinstall, how does he do that? i cant figure it out.

Can your friend post the issue here?

Then checklist...
He didnt install just the SCP? As it requires standard retail FreeSpace 2 files too
Did he install OpenAL?

Apparently the Retail FS2 disks are not available. Therefore one should either rerun the Installer and make it download the retail files, or go to HotU to waste their bandwidth, download the retail FS2 from there and extract the files to where ever he originally installed FSO. Complicated? I thought so.
