ya, ok, most of the terran ships are other peoples, but im still doing the wraiths *wink wink, nudge nudge*

Sorry, but you're not getting the Latona any time too soon. Try 0rph's Apollo GTI reskin for now, and you can replace it when INFASA comes out.
-
weres the reskin? is it .zip?
-
Get 7zip. It's free and it will handle RAR files.

............. does your computer automatically try and use it over winZIP?

7zip is superior to winZIP, titan. It'll do everything winZip does, but better. Plus it can handle .7z and .rar files, which winZIP cannot.
So, yeah, I'm sure he has his computer set to use it over winZip.
-
Meh, I just use WinRAR for everything...

Stop being so paranoid. It does what you want it to do. If you open 7-Zip and go to Tools -> Settings, you can check the file types you want 7-Zip to open. And there's probably similar things that you can do in Winzip. But, in short, you should just check all the file types for 7-Zip, since you don't need other archive programs once you start to use 7-Zip. It's free. Yes. Free. As in F-E-R-E. No wait... forget it. But yes, free. No payments. No registrations. Of course, if you feel like you want to make a donation for all the hardworking people who've worked their asses off just to give you 7-Zip, you can do it. But no compulsory payments, whatsoever. And it's a small program, too.

Unlike WinZip and WinRAR, it does not try to sneakily try to glut the file type associations, so, no, not unless you go to Tools > Settings, like Lobo said.

I use only 7-zip now that they've implemented the right click -> extract to a folder with the archive's name feature. It was the one thing that kept me using PowerArchiver (which itself is superior to WinZip, and probably WinRar until recently). But now 7-zip is all I need. The only archive I've run across it doesn't do is Ace, because Ace has terrible open support. It uses a dll that's incompatible with the 7-zip interface, and is outdated as well. But who sees an Ace archive these days?

I don't have WinRar either, where do I get this 7zip and (unlike WinRar) is it free?
-
Get 7zip. It's free and it will handle RAR files.
As for finding it:
Google usually works fine for me when I wish to find a program.
For instance, the first thing it gave me when I typed in "7 Zip" was: http://www.7-zip.org/ (http://www.7-zip.org/).
