Well it has been a while since a WIP, and I was bored so I decided to make a destroyer.
I am out of ideas of how to detail it.its like 400 polys.

Maybe some pods [better word? sections?] on the sides. 2, 4, 6 whatever. Then you can put engines, sensors, weapons and all of that jazz on it. Then greeble the crap out of it! :D
-
I made docks.
PS. For some reason when I model, I freeze and just stare at my model for minutes.

Inspired by the Orion.(Aka the plates).

Hey Hades , I see you're using the same program as me . Do you know how to texture in it and to actually convert the models to FS2 format ?
Nice ship btw .
-
I have no idea how to texture or convert.
I wish I did though.
-
GIVE..... IT.......... TO.................. MEEEEEEEEEEE!
and you make txtures in photoshop, and put them on in PCS2. somethin like that, i've never actually done it myself
-
That is not really how you ask for something.
I have turreted it and it has 40 turrets.
-
SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET

Hmm... Give it to someone to convert it's looking great.
-
For size it its like maybe 500 meters shorter than the Hades.
It need texturing, and conversion.
I have already done the debris for it as well.
EDIT:The name is GTD Cronus.
-
Add some more little wing thingys and stuff to it. It looks pretty bland right now, just like a tube and all.
-
It is based on the Orion.
That is why.
-
Here are the Debris.

Could use a bit more than that IMO.
-
With alot of reactors and guns, it wouldnt have much.

No offense, but that looks nothing like the orion. If you didn't tell me it was based off it, I wouldn't know.

Guns!

Hmm, I don't really know who wants it.
Does Shiv need a destroyer for anything?
-
Ironically, I could use it. Barring some wing turrets, it looks pretty close to some concept art for a cruiser in my mod. I could make use of it. I hope Topgun is ready...
-
If you want I can host it in 3ds for every one who wants it.

Who says I'm working for Shiv :P?
I'd just like to see it in-game (play around with it, do BoE missions with it etc). thesizzler could use it, so can other people.

Moar pictures!
Picture number 2 shows that I will use the three GTVA symbols on it.

How many polygons ?
-
Hmm, I think it s like 6k if you count the guns and everything.
-
That's pretty good.
-
I just checked, and it is 5.3k polys.
-
Cool. Is it ready for conversion?
-
Needs UVmapping.
It is ironic that I can model, but I have no idea how to UVmap the damn thing.
-
I am using this model that I made as the main turrets on my ship.
EDIT:Look at new picture.

-
Look, I made a escape pod to go with it.

I like the main gun, however (and I think you will) it could be better integrated into the hull. Also, the escape pod is very nice, much better than the Hermes.

Windows!

Final WIP...BTW more details on the docks.

Uh... Wings3D ? I didn't care to start using it, because I didn't find something for converting the results - but you might try 3DExplorer (which a link for can be found in the modding section over at gamewarden - it's in a sticky about modeling I think) or whatever else there is to find.
About UV-mapping though... should you be able to find a solution for the converting problem, you could (for a very simple start) use cubic mapping in Lithunwrap (link either in the modeling-sticky at GW or the one over here at HLP - don't really remember).
Not that that LU couldn't do anything better - it can. But as far as I understood you, you don't yet know how it works, so I suggested something easy to start with - excuse me if I should have misinterpreted your remarks :) .
As for the model... Doesn't look bad :) . I'd say it's relation to the Orion is somewhat visible - but I currently miss any pics of it's engine/aft section... well - either that or it's aft section is severely missing engines... :nervous:
-
Orionish engines!
-
Yep, that was what I meant :) . A little bit more detail to those engines wouldn't hurt, but at least they are there now :) .
-
They have been there. :wtf:
-
Oops, sorry - now that I looked through all the pics again, I see that in your first post, there already were some engines... :nervous:
