I've got this so far, it's supposed to be a large cargo/transport or destroyer/dreadnaught, but I'm stuck on a good design shape. Do you think I should do some concept art first?
Or if you've got any suggestions, post them here please.
Thanks very much in advance. :)
Oh, and the long beam has to stay for this one :)

Some people use modeling programs to doodle - others a pencil. Figure out if you are making either a destroyer or transport, then continue with the concept.
-
top left one just screams "freighter" to me and i dont know why ;)
-
I did some drawing with a pencil, then made this - I have more ideas for the back of the ship, but haven't modelled them yet. I think this is going to become a very large transport, mabye with a few weapons, and amoured (that is, it looks armoured.)

I see that ship as a kilometer long freighter, with some 10 cargo containers on the long frame.
It simply screams 'freight train of the FS Universe', something the SCP still doesn't have (I know there is a bunch of heavy freighters, but none carries 10 containers).
-
Sorry I haven't had an update for a while, I have exams coming up, so I will have to vacate the shipyards and deliver the goods.
The crap thing is that I won't be able to come here until next year because I can't use HLP at home, but I'll still be able to finish that ship, especially since I have about 2 months holiday...
-
dang
-
Why can't you?
-
Because my parents don't like "chatrooms", of which HLP would probably be classed as one. :(
But when I'm living by myself and have my own computer... ;)
2 or more years until that happens - I'm 16 at the moment, in Gr 11, so I may be in some sort of accomodation facility at Uni, but we'll have to wait until then to find out.

I was thinking along the lines of perhaps 2km or something - yes, it is long, but it was intended to be big.
btw, do you think I should make a custom cargo container?
. .
mmm a very small update, just to keep people happy?
I found some images of the ship I based my design after - before now I only had what image was in my head - the beam and some sort of spikeyness. (From the 2007 Doctor Who series, episode named: 42 - yes, that is what it was called)

Either that or the Event Horizon
-
Thought: COuld a ship have multiple cargo attachments?
-
That looks strikingly similar to MT's TFDx Apocalypse... Styxx? What's going on here? :wtf:
-
Um... Which one? Mine or The Pentallian? :nervous:
When I started modelling, I had completly forgotten about the Apocalypse, and didn't have those pics for reference, so I think it should be ok.
EDIT: As for the Event Horizon, I didn't event know it existed.
Please tell me if you have any issues, and I might try and change the design, though I don't want to... :(

A ship can have multiple docked ships at the same time, courtesy of the SCP.

More updates. Last time this year. :( Which way do you think the "wheels" should go?
Oh well, see you next year guys ;)

Sweeeeeeeeeeeet

This is definately the last day I post for this year.
Thanks for the praise!!! ;)
The poly count is around 30 000, 20 000 take away all the junk and the diemos. Anyway, I still have some work to do on the rest of the "main" hull.
This is the last goodbye...for now.
