Title: Mantis Down?
Post by: tomlikestorock on October 20, 2007, 03:24:10 am
Hey,

I was trying to get into Mantis and register an account, but I kept getting an email error. Thus I could never finish the registration of my account. Even tried the "Lost your password" link, but to no avail. What gives?

Registration with Mantis is a little flaky at the moment. It's being worked on.

The email stuff is being worked on, I'll get an ETA, sorry about that. Didn't realize it killed registrations.

I am told the email stuff will be sorted out in a few more days, end of the month.

Nope, still failing for me. Both signing up and the lost your password function are still not working for me. Perhaps you could delete the previous account I attempted to make? Maybe that's the bug? My username for mantis was going to be tomlikestorock (if I try any name, it still fails).

Are you using hotmail or one of the other "bad" email systems? Alot of them mark the mantis emails as spam...

It's not that I'm not receiving the emails, or that they're getting marked as spam, it's that Mantis crashes when it tries to send me one. It reports a blank page except for the statements "Could not instantiate email" or something like that, specifies a perl module, and reports the email it was trying to send to. If you don't believe me, please try to register a new account on Mantis for yourself. This is preventing me from helping to fix bugs and help out.
