Anyone out there want Half Life 2? I'll give it to you
-
Pick me! Not
-
Actually I wouldn't mind... mainly cause I haven't played it yet.
-
cole cambell called it first :(
cole: send me your email address or steam ID (if you have one)
-
I've got a copy to give away as well, along with Episode 1.
-
Sorry. That was sarcasm. I thought that since I started The Orange Box topic it was obvious. And the fact that I kept commenting on Portal.
-
*raises hand*
I've not played any of the Half-Life games, other than a demo
of HL1 a long time ago.
:wtf: I know, I know... I'm game deficient.
-
ok JGZ, send me your email address
-

Since I can't legally be employed for almost ten more months (16 age rule...), I have no cash. I have HL2, but not episode one. Would you be so kind as to allow me your giveaway copy? My throwaway public email is [email protected] if you're interested.
-
Can I give my existing PC copy to comeone? I have it via the Orange Box on the Xbox, so no real need to keep it on the PC honestly.

Where do you live? The age is fourteen in Canada.

I'm trying to send it, but it won't let me send it. Do you have any alternate email addresses?
-
Send the whole game? That's a bit more than what regular e-mail can do. Can you send just the product code? I can download the actual game files off of some pirating site...
Colecampbell: I live in Southern California. The only job available to 15 years is sign flipping...
-
He's just trying to send you a Steam ID, or something. And don't get a pirated version, they don't let you save games, you have to play a whole chapter before closing it to advance.
What's sign flipping? Changing the signs with plastic letter plates?
-
The email's displayed with a bunch of contact methods in my profile...
But ok... [email protected]
If that doesn't work there's AOL too.
Thanks a bunch.
(Edit - Don't forget Scooby Doo... he was before me but after cole)
-
Alright. Send whatever you need to the email I will provide in the PM.
-

You sick person... :headz:
-
Oh, and colecampbell, signflipping is holding a carbord sign on the corners of intersections to advertise crap the old-fashioned way. These signs are usually flipped and tossed, or at least rotated constantly.
-
As for AOL... not my choice... I was about 12
didn't know any better since it was AOL 1.0b or something
like that.
By the time I became geek, I loathed AOL and had too much
stuck in it business wise to break off.
Now I've got wireless broadband, which I wired about 700 feet
of Belden Plenum MediaTwist Cat 6 for whole house and property internet.
AOL's backup for dialup and useful for AIM and eMail.... past that I believe
it to be plotting against the world and probably at the heart of SkyNet in
all three Terminator movies.
-
Heh, I mmanaged to cut the cord on AOL around 1997-8, I feel your pain, I just it the bullet and did it :)
-
Gift sent Revenant. You're good to go.
-
I love you, redsniper. (in a non-sexual way, obviously)

What? You mean you severed all business ties or AOL is just hard to cancel? I've heard that it is.
-
guys... you don't "send the entire game" to them.
you see the "1 Gift" in your "My Games" tab, you click that, type in an email address, and steam sends them an invitation to DOWNLOAD the game, from steam
-
I just assumed that he tried to send the whole damn game when he said that the email wouldn't go through. Obviously, I wasn't thinking too straight that day, possibly due to the smoke.
-
How close are the fires now?
-
Well when they ask for marshmallows.... :nervous:
-
speaking of HL2, if I buy the boxed version in a shop can a dial-up connection handle the online registration ?
-
Should be, just make sure that you disable auto-patch.
-
Yeah, I did it. It took a while though. Of course, I hadn't loaded Steam up in weeks, but it spent hours scanning for game updates. Then I could finally put the CD key in, then I had to install the games from the disk, THEN it had to update them before they were playable. Took about two days or so, and all I have so far is Portal, and about 30% of Episode 1
-
Stealth, don't know if you received my PM or not...
Should have gotten something on the 25th.
-

Wait! Is it opened or sealed? If you installed it, you can't give it to other.
-
If he got it off Steam, he can give it to someone as a gift if he already had it.
EDIT: :welcomeorange: Johnny!

Huh? I have a old GOTY HALF-LIFE 2 from a man who gave it me. but Steam said "A CD Key may only be registered to one Steam account" I think CDs are banned
So, I got another HALF-LIFE 2.
I tried to install HALF-LIFE: Source on my HD
-
He must have already used the key. Once a key is used, it can't be removed from the Steam account.

That's suck... To reset the CDs, $10. :sigh:
-
well, you see, the way it works now, if you install a copy of a game already registered to your account, registers that game as a "gift," and you have one copy to give to a friend and have it registered under their steam account. So, even though I bought Halflife 2 a couple years ago, I just bought Orange Box, that includes HL2, and the entire Orange Box is on one CD Key. But steam noticed I already had Halflife 2, and I have a copy of HL2 to give free of charge to a friend.
