I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I load FS2Open via the launcher, I go to the mods tab, click on Select Mod, and I choose a folder of a mod/campaign I'm trying to play. I launch the game, and nothing mod or campaign related shows up either in the main campaign or the mission simulator. What am I doing wrong?
Btw, when loading FSPort or any FSPort mod, I see the introductory cutscene, all the custom models/weapons work, and I can play the FSPort missions through the mission simulator.

:welcome:
I take it that you have not been playing FreeSpace for very long- which makes you an open mind and fresh meat for the Hard Light community to consume. Welcome!
To play a new campaign, you have to click on the "campaign" button (on the Aquitaine, it's the GTVA symbol on the big monitor). Click on that and you'll see your mod posted as one of the choices.

Indeed. Playing mods is a twofold procedure. First, select your desired mod folder as your mod from the Launcher. Then, select the appropriate campaign from the Campaign Room in-game. In FSPort the Campaign Room is the middle hangar door (or whatever), just above the Ready Room.
As a side note, you do know that switching campaigns and mods with a single pilot can be somewhat risky, unless you know all the tricks. The easiest thing is to have a pilot for each campaign.

some mods dont come with missions too. best bet is to extract some missions and add any new ships and weapons to the mission loadout.

...thanks... :wtf:
It's funny because I've actually been playing FreeSpace for quite a while (FS1 since released, FS2 since 2005), but since I never downloaded any custom campaigns or mods, I never paid attention to the campaign room option...
