No, I don't think so. FreeSpace supports widescreen quite poorly, not to mention that kind of way-too-widescreen.

Yes--run only with a single monitor. The game--it doesn't work with widescreen monitors. You start getting some funny-looking screens with a widescreen monitor.

@illogique::welcomegreen:
Yea wide screen is not recommended.
Although my laptop is wide screen and no problems. :nervous:

Well, same here, but I didn't like the wandering suns and the ****ed up HUD, so I prefer playing in 1024x768, with black bars running around the screen.

when you start playing with 3 monitors, it's hard to go back to single ;7
any work being done/plan to support widescreen?

It's probably never going to happen, since there are more important things to work on.

And ew, you're running in Direct3D. :P

i could not ma,age to launch freespace with softh in directx mod... what are your settings?
for the streched screen that's jsut a matter of fov... but i didn't saw anything about changing fov in freespace should be 120 instead of 60 degrees

To change fov, add -fov x.xx (mine is set to 0.55)

i just drop the file in the folder and select the resolution in the launcher...
the same config has for lfs, pretty stock config

when i launch freespace, my left screen is all fuzzy, i just alt-tab to the desktop and back to the game to correct it!

Any change on planning for multiscreen setup?
i've just bought a matrox triplehead2go , and it works very well with freespace2 scp in 3840*1024 , the fov is correct and i didn't noticed any glitch b ut the hud strectched accross the 3 screen.
Lasts mounths was released 16/10 screens support and i w onder if something could be done the sameway for triplescreen.
An option in the launcher or the command line to force the engine  to render hud under the resolution you defined (from the center of it) for exemple :
Resolution : 3840*1024
hud resolution : 1280*1024 ^^
