Title: Hello, I'm a Mac. What Joystick should i buy?
Post by: membrana on November 02, 2007, 12:55:43 pm
hi to all,
two days ago i found about this project and now i have everything set up at home... evrything, but a joystick.
i have a Mac mini, which i think won't give me the Best graphics in the universe, but something decent i belive...
and when i went to look for my old, dusty joystick, i found out that it was one of those that had a serial port.

so... i have a Mac, and i want a joystick... its a pretty difficult thing to find.
what do you recommend?
i don't mind the price so much... but well... the less we spend, the less my girlfriend beats me.  :D

btw: anyone from Argentina in here?

THANKS!!!

Just get a Logitech Dual Action gamepad.  They're cheap and should be compatible,  There are two problems though...

1:  They aren't a flashy, yuppie colored and unnaturally designed piece of hardware.
2:  They aren't outrageously expensive.

In that case get an EVO. I have an EVO Force, best stick EVAH!!!! I didn't know if it worked with Mac, though.

nowhere on Saiteks site is said that they support the Mac platform...
so, i sent a mail to techsupport... but i'll be more comfortable with hearing user experiences...

Certain features like buttons, axes, and hats should be recognized by the system no problem.  If there is a problem, it likely has to do with feedback or button control.

I did some research and found out that Mac OS 10.2.3 introduced better force-feedback support.

I think UT is full-blood American but he does live in the Virgin Islands (lucky bastard).

 A computer that is just like a human...  (referring to topic title)

*you wish*
*talking to yourself is the first sign of madness*

Heheh, I don't think so, we're risking our lives out here, we deserve a straight answer.

Do Microsoft joysticks work with Macs?  *probably not*
If they do, a Sidewinder 2 is a heavy gutsy joystick with big forcefeed back(I think anyway)
