Has this been done or is someone still working on it?
-
It has been "done", just not officially released.
-
ah, is there any reason in particular why it hasn't been officially released? Are you guys doing something extra?
-
I'm guessing many people have done it themselves and a version is in circulation, but it wasn't "officially" released.
-
I see well im on a mac and therefor unable to do it myself. If someone would be willing to share the fruits of their labor I'd be much obliged
-
It'll be "officially" released in version 3.1.
-
couldnt someone give me an unofficial one to tide me over untill the 3.1 comes out? seeing how as its already done
-

Truism of the world, right there.
Anything you can do with FSO on Windows or Linux, you can do on Mac.

lol, not what I meant. The programs used to open vps are windows based as with fred, I believe, unless someone made a mac version I do not know about.,
-
Is work still ongoing for 3.1 or has FSPort been wrapped up for now to concentrate on ST:R?
-
What for those inpatient bastards like me who do not want to wait for 3.1?

I'd guess a Port representative will come at your place, give a warm handshake and say "Sucks to be you".
Being patient is fun, after all.

Try Maja VP Editor.
So what's the release schedule for the FS1 era projects? I assume ST:R, TVWP, FSP3.1...
-
FSPort v3.1 is required to run ST:R, so it will be released first.
-
...Or at the same time.
-
On a somewhat related note: Will the low-poly extra Orions be hi-poly-able?
-
...Or at the same time.
I thought about that. But first is better, because that way we get warned about any kinks in the VP before the actual release. :)

Yup.
-
:wtf: Low poly extra Orions?
-
Least Goober got it...
I meant the Intrepid, Myrmidon, ect.
-
For the record, though, I really can't stand the high-poly Orions. :blah:
-
Why not?
-
The greebles make no sense. They're huge, ugly, and entirely the wrong shapes. They don't follow the established design pattern of the Orion. They cause errors in established campaigns for which tight placement is an issue (for example, Awakenings).
There is nothing wrong with having a large amount of detail. Vasudan Admiral is currently in the middle of greebling a retail ship, and it looks simply outstanding. But that's because VA knows how to follow the established design of the ship. Evolve the concept; don't pile papier-mâché on it.
(For the record, my complaint is with the model, not the texture. Bobboau's model seems to have been designed using the same philosophy with which he designs his code. Galemp's textures improved it as much as was humanly possible without actually re-engineering it from scratch.)
