i am having a bit of a problem getting taylor builds to work, i have tried fs2_open_3_6_10-20071028T.exe, fs2_open_3_6_10-20071007T.exe and there debug builds, every time i try to load up any of them nothing happens i always get the microsoft box up saying Freespace has encountered a serious error and has had to close etc. I have launcher 5.5c, the normal test map vp my system spec is
athlon 64 3200+
2048mb DDr ram
ATI X800 with the latest drivers
windows xp pro with service pack2
DX9
So am i doing anything wrong or have i missed something totally obvious?
oh yeah my command lines are
C:\Games\FreeSpace2\fs2_open_3_6_10_debug-20071028T.exe -spec -glow -mipmap -missile_lighting -cache_bitmaps -dualscanlines -targetinfo -orbradar -ballistic_gauge -ship_choice_3d -3dwarp -warp_flash -fps -ambient_factor 100

Eh, run the _debug version, when it crashes, post the \data\fs2_open.log to http://www.hard-light.net.pastebin.com , include your username in the space provided for it.

ok i'll try that.
Edit do need to post the problems i am having as well or just the a copy of the log

both

I believe you need the -normal flag to enable normal mapping.
Try adding this flag: -no_glsl
See if that fixes the crash.

Cheers buddy thats got it working :)

Yeah... that means you won't get normal mapping on your computer.
