A classic:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GipFyAsYK1M
Is it me or this was simply their best one?
-
Its definitely a classic but there's so many good ones that I'd say its really hard to pick the best one. Some of the skits are on their own only just a bit funny but within the context of a whole episode they are outrageously funny so its really hard to say.

I like the argument clinic better...
-
... :wtf:

Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!
Although I'm also partial to the flying sketch (I am not on a wire, I am flying!).
-
My favourites are still the "Ministry of silly walks" and the "Upperclass Twit of the Year"
-
My favorite was hitler in england
-
Is it me or this was simply their best one?
no, and I will now prove by contradiction.

I was about to mention that one myself :D
-
The guys are great...most of their sketches are cool...but their movies...the Holy Grail...now THAT'S a clasic!
-
oh yea these are really great indeed
-
"...Once the number three, being the third number be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being not in my sight, shall snuff it. Amen"
-
 Just watched the first one... will be back for the second.
-
"...Once the number three, being the third number be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it. Amen"
And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade on high, and spake, saying: "O Lord, bless this thy Holy Hand Grenade, that with it thou may blowest thy enemies into tiny bits, in thy mercy!"

:wtf: Why, was that their worst one? It wasn't all that funny.. sure, it was corny, but not funny.
-
now you see, this is what's known as "wrong", your opinion is wrong sir.
-
The soccer match between German and Greek philosophers was far and away the best TV sketch they ever did.
Edit- Aha! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrShK-NVMIU

I agree 100% with the latter. I actually cried laughing at that one.

In my opinion, their best sketch was "The Funniest Joke in the World". I love that one.

That one is definitely a solid contender for being their best ever yes.
Personally I still get a kick out of the skit that lasts most of the episode where the aliens from another galaxy invade and turn everyone into Scotsmen so that the aliens can win and Wimbledon. Comedy gold!
-
that was the one about the joke that was so funny it was used as a weapon in WW2 and had to be written in different parts so no one person would hear it, and it was translated into German so it could be used by solders in the field and only the enemy would be effected.
-
I will reply with three words, "Cheese Shop Sketch!"
-
Now that I saw more of Monty Python, I am no longer convinced it is just more dry and stupid British humor. Yeah, the dry and stupid humor is there, but there's also a taste of obnoxious and insulting Canadian style humor in there, which I think is the best kind of humor ever. Ever!
-
You mean more along the lines of this ?

-
Yep, that looks pretty dry and stupid to me :).
-
Personally, the "Art of Not Being Seen" skit still ranks as my favorite:

The Halo version is better methinks...
Warning: this comes from the user whose nickname is derived from said game
EDIT: cookie for whoever can name all the maps from the following Halo CE version of "Art of Not Being Seen."

I've played on 1/2 or 3/4s of them... I remembered a few names, but it's been awhile since I fired up HCE. :( Although, bitterbanana (ShawnS)'s mods are nice. :drevil:
-
Yep, they are. You wouldn't have happened to have played Butcher's server? Or perhaps played on Diesel's 3rd Server?
-
I've played on Diesel's server, not sure which one. Butcher, IDK, maybe... I just find a server with good players and decent ping, and jump on. :D
-
What's your username on CE?

You played on Butcher's server? Who were you?
Used to frequent that server all the time... then it mysteriously vanished.
Which is too bad, cause that server had the best competition... :(
-
Shockingly enough,
jr2
-
I seem to remember seeing you around...
Uh... back to topic: :nervous:
"Art of not being Seen" is definitely a good one.
And I disagree, Spartan, the Halo version is not better.

Response: I am biased. I saw the Halo one first.

Hrmph, and here I was thinking you were biased because you're a fanboy. My mistake.
-
"This is Mr. E. R. Bradshaw of Napier Court, Black Lion Road, SE 14 who cannot be seen, Mr BradShaw Will you stand UP please?" *music gets louder* *guy stands up* :snipe: *dies* "This demonstrates the value of not being seen."
Monty Python... FTW ;)
-
What do you do, when you attacked by someone armed with AN BANANA?!?, first, you force him to DROP THE BANANA!, next, you EAT THE BANANA!!!!, thus disarming him...
-
Response: I am biased. I saw the Halo one first.
Good lord man! :)
-
Explanation: I do not know Monty Python as well as I should. I do, however, know much about Halo. I saw it linked from somewhere else and saw it, but immediately recognized John Cleese's voice.
Tangent: In the second-most recent Bond movie, there is a reference to Monty Python. Small cookie if you can name it.
