Title: How a mission gets made!
Post by: Axem on November 12, 2007, 06:01:03 pm
Howdy folks.

I though I'd release something on this day of meaningless anniversary (you guessed it, JAD2 released 2 years ago! Already all the pop culture jokes are 44% less funny.)

So this "meta"-mission is all about how a "non-meta"-mission gets made (aside from that other very important step that takes forever, voice acting).

Enjoy!

The mission (http://www.axemspace.com/files/misc/SoK2-3.fs2)
Put into /data/missions/ and then go into the Mission Simulator and play "In the Making".
Then come back and say "This mission sucked"

:)

Heh. And that's the reason why I work alone.  :p

Two years ago? You make yourself sound old...

I have to try this when I get home.

I tried to play the mission and had this error:

Code: [Select]
Error: Invalid ship class name.

In sexpression: ( when
   ( true )
   ( change-ship-class
      "NTF Iceni"
      "Victorious"
   )
   ( send-message-list
      "#D"
      "High"
      "No I told you"
      5000
      "#R"
      "High"
      "They could've been mass produc"
      4000
      "#D"
      "High"
      "This is my campaign!"
      5000
   )
)
(Error appears to be: NTF Iceni)
File: MissionParse.cpp
Line: 5831

Call stack:
------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------

Apparently, the NTF Iceni was supposed to become a "Victorious" which I don't have...  I have the blue planet mod activated, however, if that interests you.

EDIT: Applied the JAD mod.  It worked fine.

Oh yeah.  THIS MISSION SUCKS HORRIBLY.   :yes2::lol::wakka: :lol: :yes:

Other way around. Victorious becomes Iceni. I didn't have any problems.

Too bad this rather obscure anniversary went pretty much unnoticed, but thanks for the thought, Axem.
