Two questions:
- Are they allowed to carry turrets?
- Can they spawn something upon destruction?

1. They can carry turrets. However, they won't shoot. There's an armed cargo container somewhere on Hade's Combine; it's set to Cruiser class so that it'll use weapons. Try just making a sentry gun.
2. What do you mean? You can use arrival cues in FRED to make something spawn when something else is destroyed. There's no code support for anything like that, though. Once something's dead, it's dead. Do you mean like the Iceni/Boadicea? Well, take a look at the Boadicea POF file if you want. It's just an Iceni being covered by an asteroid subsystem.

No I meant like this: A Triton in a convoy that seems to be carrying a cargo container which is actually packing a BGreen or something.

Just dock the Triton with a custom sentry.

I do believe that the raider wars camp for b5 had a wing of zepher fighters spawn from the cargo pods of an EA freaghter

Dock an Argo with a dockpointed Mjolnir. That would look better than a Triton methinks.

Procyon Insurgency has that too. A Triton would look pretty cool if you edited turrets onto a TC-TRI.
