Title: So... any HLPer's live near Monterey?
Post by: Nuclear1 on November 19, 2007, 03:56:12 pm: It just so happens that as part of AF technical training, I get to spend a nice 1.5 years at the Presidio in California. I'm supposed to be leaving here in San Antonio in the next couple of days. Anybody live near or in Monterey that know any good stuff to do around town? :)

Sorry, presidio means jail in portuguese. :D

What language you learning?

And are you going to be flying?

Ha, no. :p The Presidio is an Army base that's currently home to the Defense Language Institute, where I'll be attending for the next 1.5 years.

I'll be learning Arabic, and yes, I'll be flying. :)

Nope. I came in about three months before they started issuing the ABUs. I still the good ol' forest BDUs. :)
