Title: PCS2 Crashes...
Post by: Talon 1024 on November 21, 2007, 03:54:58 pm
It seems that whenever I try and save a ship with shields to a POF in the "normal" PCS2 builds, the program crashes.  I'm not sure why.  Saving ships to POFs works fine in the PCS2 BSP Experimental version (for me anyway.)

So... HELP MEEEE!!  :(

Check the release date in the title bar - does it say "Oct 22 2007"? If not, then you have an older version that still has the shield crash bug present. The RC1 thread with the latest build is here: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,50099.0.html

Hmmm...  The release date says "Oct 18 2007."  I'll update my PCS2 now and try it out later.

Edit: Tested it on an existing PMF model file.  It said something like "cannot compile BSP for submodel" the first time I saved to a POF.  It seemed to work perfectly the second and third time I saved.

Otherwise, thank you for letting me know of the update to PCS2.

Edit2: Tested it on a COB file with shield data.  It saved perfectly.

second and third time are because it's not rernning compilation, it cached the result - the result is still bad, that error means it dropped polygons due to bad geometry regions
