Title: The best light settings for FS2 with shaders
Post by: DaBrain on November 26, 2007, 05:50:04 pm
I'm interested in which settings you use once we got shader support.

Of course I'm talking mostly about ships that already have a normal map.

I prefer the Doom3/UT3 look, so I set mine to: -no_emissive_light -ogl_spec 30 -ambient_factor 25
The metal surfaces really look like metal with these settings imho.

Edit: This is also nice:
-no_emissive_light -ogl_spec 50 -ambient_factor 80

I kinda have to use that for levels with a red sun. Otherwise everything is completely red...

Erm. How exactly do you change the ambient_factor?  :shaking:

Custom command line arguments (Launcher->Features).

My command lines are

-ambient_factor 20 -ogl_spec 30 -no_emissive_light -spec_exp 11 -spec_point 0.6 -spec_static 0.8 -spec_tube 0.4

Thanks to DaBrain, didn't understand what the ogl_spec used to be for!

Any screens with these specific settings to demonstrate the 'metal-ness' of the look?
