Hmm, quite simply...I can't see my weapons fire..... any tips? I have applied the patches and everything, i start playing, and i cant see weapons fire(no nebulae in sky either)
how can I get this fixed?

For the weapon effects, you'll need the latest MediaVPs, available here (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,39905.0.html) or with Turey's Installer. As for the nebulae, Blue Planet relies completely on LightSpeed's Nebulae, which you can get behind the Useful Stuff link in my signature.

If that wont help then... Current reso and graphics mode (directcrash or opengl)? Do the the desktop and FS2 graphics have same color depth (16bit / 32bit)?
-
Can you see a full starfield in the first few missions, or is it just a few stars here and there?
-
Make sure it loads from mediavps with the .ini file.
-
I can only see a few stars, it looks like retail fs2. reso is the same as desktop's, and i have lightspeed's nebulae installed...I had actually visited your link and got nearly all the files when i reinstalled fso. do i have to copy the vp in the blueplanet folder? I reinstalled FSO via turey's installer less than a month ago, so i should have the most recent stuff...
Graphics mode is in opengl btw

You mean the LS Nebulae vp? Nope. To the mediavps folder. But one question: do you have a proper mod.ini file in your blueplanet folder? If not, download this (http://koti.mbnet.fi/reiler/FunkyFreeSpaceStuff/BluePlanetModIni.7z) and extract to your blueplanet folder.

thanks, that seems to have worked. i have good graphics now XD

Did you not read what I posted the first time?

Well, some people aren't that acquainted with using the mod.ini. And your post could've been a bit clearer. You only talked about an ini, even though generally there are two ini files per mod folder (settings.ini and mod.ini). But now the problem is solved so let's drop the subject.
