Title: Bet you havn't had this with FRED yet...
Post by: ComradeChernobyl on December 05, 2007, 07:43:38 pm
Hey, everybody. I've got a rather odd... feature with FRED that recently showed up. Basically, whenever I place Shivan ships with the editor, the models only appear in shades of grey, as if they are "inactive" or something. The Shivan ships will still look all normal when running a mission; they just look strange while in the FRED editing screen. I attempted to include a screenie so you get the idea. Yes, I am using the MediaVP files, just not the advanced ones since my computer isn't that great.
As it stands, this SNAFU is more annoying than anything else, but I'd still like a solution or at least some answers. Thanks in advance!

Looks like your FRED shortcut doesn't have the right arguments to display the glow maps.

Basically you need to add in -glow (and any other argument you want (http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/FRED_Command_Line_Reference)) to your shortcut target box at the end.

Also be aware that -fredhtl and -jpgtga are not used in FRED builds past 3.6.9. FRED will warn you if you're using nonexistent arguments.
