after a lot of bad language and ill intent toward my PC the Mig finally took it first breath today! i have a few cosmetic things to do still, like clean up the cockpit and add debris. the worst is over now! :D

It's a lower poly version that Steve-O- has been working on, though, having looked through the comparison shots it's hard to tell the difference unless you are extremely close to the model.
How many polies is the final version btw?

It's actually extremely easy to tell the difference at the range of, say, that last pic, because there are two of those flat tubes along the top of each engine instead of three.

How many polies is the final version btw?
without debris the whole things comes in under 30,000. i think it was like 27,575. the grand poly count befor i started this was about 89-90,000. i surprised myself. had to shave off alot of details but in the end considering that this is meant to be played with ingame, alot of those details would not be seen, and their loss didn't take away from the original model to much. also had to take some creative liberties here and there, like the reduction of the flat tubes around the engine from 3 to 2. all in all, i think if i were to meet coolhand face to face he wouldn't punch me in the eye.
as far as an ETA i can say withing the week with confidence.
i'll hammer on it today some more later on and try to get it down finally for all to enjoy. :)
