Im sure this has been asked before... but i couldnt find much on the subject very easily...
What are the best options for computer generated voice out there... besides the obvious (and horrible) microsoft Sam/Mike? Is there anywhere i can get the AT&T voices for free? any others that are decent?
-
Methinks you can D/L a few from the microsoft site, but I'm not sure.. I rarely use those voices...maby only for the Tech room sometimes :P

Well ive heard that the AT&T voices are really good... or something else similar to that??
I just hate having to try to read all the important info while in game.... pausing during a fight so i dont miss it... its annoying. And the Microsoft voices just suck....

Is there anywhere i can get the AT&T voices without having to pay out the a** for them?

Piracy! :D
The AT&T voices are good. They're also huge. Crystal took up over half a gig of HD space and the male voice would have taken up about the same amount. They also slowed the game down by a significant amount.

I would settle for having plain ol' Microsoft Sam work consistently. For some reason, he doesn't want to read about half of the in-mission text. This is most unfortunate, as having to read messages during the mission - or, more likely, hit F4 to read them from the message log - kinda ruins the experience. I don't expect every campaign/mod to be voice acted, and many never will be, but they would be a lot more fun if the text-to-speech at least worked all the time. MS Sam is at least understandable - mostly.

On which missions?

Aww so no AT&t for free?? lol
And you think it would slow it down alot on a really good system? Im running a Intel 2.4 GHz Dual Core Quad, 2 GB ram, and a Nvidia 8600 GT @ 256 mb

http://www.neospeech.com/ sounds good, judging by their demos...
