Looks like they're a group who organise flash crowds (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_mob).

Looks like the UK has them beat (http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/article-23391632-details/4,000%20flash%20mob%20dancers%20startle%20commuters%20at%20Victoria/article.do) for the size of an event though.

Yeah, Improv Everywhere are great. The Moebius one's my personal favourite.

The funniest part of the redhead stunt is the moronic comments of people who took it seriously.  Read some, they're great!
