G'day,
I'm working on a mod for FS atm and I have a small problem, I've run out of ship slots
Is there any way to extend them? I'm using SCP and its just that the ships past a certain point dont come up, as tho the list has a restriction on its length.
Any way to expand it?
Thanks

The Inferno build of FS Open has increased that limit(as well as other FS Open builds I don't recall at the moment). Look for them :)

Is there any reason why all scp builds now don't have the inf feature for ship bumpage as an option (or standard)? seems only logical.
-
Because Inferno has PLENTIES of ships :P
I told you, other builds should have an increased limit of ships(Goober Dixit).

had same problem
i just took out canon ships i knew i wasnt going to use

Why is there a limit at all :wtf:
Can someone give me a link to a SCP build that allows alot of ships.
And ive taken out ships I wont use and still dont have enough slot, I really need more slots :nervous:

Other things like the number of Intel entries have a limit. The number of AI profile had a very low limit(which has been increased to 50).

Uhm...I don't know if the FS INF build released with INFA1 is the same I have. I can give for sure that the build will become available with INFA SA.
(but...build like the ones you're asking for should already be available...)

how are Inferno mod builds of any use, they are for the Inferno mod, other mods cant use it can we?

Ask Woomeister :)

if the ship limit is higher than it is it breaks multi-player, it has been a bear to fix that so it still has a limit.

Because when the Freespace games were new games, the CPUs and videocards of the time couldn't handle huge "furballs" of fighters.
Commonly called "Battle of Endor Syndrome*", they're scenarios that throw in so much stuff that only the hottest of hot PCs can even hope to run them acceptably. Thus the Inferno build of Freespace- just for people with hot systems that love "furballs".
*Or Wake Island, Marianas Turkey Shoot, Battle of the Coral Sea, or any other World War II battle with large numbers of aircraft slugging it out.

ANY mod can use an Inferno build. Inferno builds are just normal builds with more ship slots. ;)

I think you misread, I dont mean a limit on the ships in a mission, i mean the limit of the number of classes of ships in FRED list to choose from.

Given that FOW will require a more ship slots I may end up using an inferno build....if 3.6.10 doesn't come out by the time I finish it :P
