What's with all of the obscenely old topic bumping happening in the last few days? I look at a topic and I'm like "awesome new idea!" and find out that it's an "awesome old idea" that hasn't been worked on for two years, but someone happens to find it and bumps it, asking when it'll be done when in most cases the creators are dead. It's getting annoying.

I agree, that's quite enough of that nonsense!
Some of them had good enough reasons for the necro'ing though.

Some of them had good enough reasons for the necro'ing though.
And those reasons were... what, exactly? The only type I've encountered follows a pattern, e.g. "OMG! Stargate mod! Can't wait ", posted to a thread 2-5 years after the previous post.

The only good one's that I could see were the bumping of TrashMan's Orion thread, and the Deimos thread, even though that was kinda pointless.

i necro'd the the independance vs diablo (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,44363.msg950319.html#msg950319) red-alert bug in the inferno mod forum, and now it's stickied :D
it was only a few months, but it makes me feel special :P

Well if there's anything in particular that got bumped for no good reason (IE: just to say "I can't wait!" for a 2 year dead topic) then report it and we'll lock it.
