Hey I found out a litte bit more info. Once you've converted the shp file over to 3ds format with the Milkshaper plugin, TS 4 will load the model with textures set up correctly, BUT TS 2 does not. I also found that if you mess with the UV at all,..the texture get misaligned.

Shrike, any luck getting the sound files?

not yet.  But I need an update to my SLedit, so then I might be able to get them.
