Right in the thread directly above this, unless someone posts in it. (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,39905.0.html)

what about normal maps ?
A build that supports normal maps (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,50258.0.html), and the normal maps (http://fs2source.warpcore.org/exes/nm_test.rar).

and the new subspace effects
Look through the threads concerning new subspace or warp effects and try to find a link for downloading the effects. May be difficult, but can be done.

anything else ?
Under normal conditions, I'd suggest you checked out the Useful Stuff link in my signature, but at the moment there's nothing there but the TVWP demo. Damn you, webspace constrictions. Damn you to hell. Though I think I'll take it down and upload the usual things there next Sunday. After that you can acquire some HTL ships and a few additional graphical improvements there.

Mediavps are a cumulative release of art enhancements packed in a complete easy-using way (just a few vps which contain all needed models, textures, table modifications etc).

Because of all the WIP changes, available mediavps (3.6.8 zeta) are a bit old, and therefore outdated, and you can find some newer HTL models, effects, WIP normal maps and so on.

But there's no easy way to post what you exactly need and how to install all the available data. You need to be an advanced user and dig through all the forum. And keep in mind that there's a lot of WIP elements that can have undesired crosseffects if you don't use in the right way.

I would recommend you to wait till next release 3.6.10., (both in build and mediavps), if you are not really sure what and how you are installing.

Thanks for answering everyone..
i was hopeing to not have to trawl through lots of threads, oh well

ps: are the models in the HTL-Status Thread Mk.4 included in the latest mediavp's ?

i have 3.6.9 and mediavp's 3.6.8 zeta

actually im not sure about there contents i must of downloaded them about a yesr ago
That's the reason I recommend you to stick to official releases. Unless you DO REALLY KNOW what you are exactly using, how vps and other data are used, the exact contents of the vps, etc., don't start downloading and installing whatever you see. Never fire blind shots. You can mess your installation with fake, WIP or cross-incompatible data.

Of course the only way of becoming an advanced user is playing with the data yourself. But please read and understand at least the basic modding info from FS Wiki, (fs2 data contents, how tables work, some vp and pof utils usage, -mod and mod.ini usage, basic knowledge about at least ship and weapons table, how you specify which bitmaps are used for each effect, how ship textures are handled, ...), before starting. And then, or even while learning, ask for help in the Support Board (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/board,151.0.html). But please ask concise questions, not a general HOW FS2 WORKS?. There's no easy way to tell you how to get all the separated stuff working together.

So you can go the easy way, (stick just to mediavps) or the advanced way. But the last one needs basically YOUR EFFORT.

(This post is a generic one which maybe doesn't fully apply to you. It should be followed by a lot of hungry newbies. Please try to LEARN before ASK).
