hey all,
first of all, fantastic job with fs2o, made me fall in love with the game for at least the 9th time.
however, i'm having an issue that i can't seem to resolve, whenever i run fs2o using opengl, all the ships consist of white and grey lines, shape is fine and underneath i can kinda see the right textures. doesnt seem to matter what settings i use for opengl (how much AA, bi or tri linear, etc) and it works fine with d3d8.
i installed with turey's installer, just now rechecked and according to that i have all the latest files. this is a reinstall, i havnt played for awhile, i don't recall having this problem before, but i do have a new system. i've updated by graphics drivers (latest official) for my nvidia 7600gt, and as far as i can tell i've got the latest drivers for everything else except my mobo (compatibility issues, not graphic ones though).
command line:
fs2_open_3_6_9.exe -mod mediavps -spec -glow -env -jpgtga -mipmap -dualscanlines -targetinfo -orbradar -rearm_timer -3dwarp -warp_flash -snd_preload
any help would be appreciated, d3d8 works ok, but i'd much rather use open gl for the better AA

On several occasions I've heard that the latest Nvidia drivers have issues with OpenGL. Try to install a tad bit older drivers and see if that helps.

That, and the fact that the cutscenes only play in OpenGL.

The latest nvidia "Crysis" drivers have opengl bugs
Either downgrade to nvidia driver 163.75, or use 169.25 with the latest fso beta (it can be installed from the installer, then just change the exe in the launcher to 3.6.10)
See this thread (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,50345.0.html) for more info

as long as i have the cd in the cutscenes play for me in d3d8, they arent sized right but they play in original format.
thank you nx! switching to 3_6_10 fixed everything!

check that, didnt entirely fix it
herc 2s still have problem but ONLY in the targeting window... any ideas?

You should post into the other thread... Some other people are also having this problem with the herc2 and a few other models with 3.6.10 and 169.25. But if you don't play Crysis, you should downgrade to 163
-
i don't play crysis, but i do play nwn... ah well, fs2 is better and maybe the next set of drivers will fix both, should i downgrade to any 163 in particular? or does it not matter.

Well, if you can find it on Nvidia's website (I had to manually change the .html file name in the address bar to find the previous driver for linux, I couldn't find it in the archive, and I can't find 163.75 for XP by changing the file name)
Edit: got it: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_163.75.html (http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_163.75.html)
163.75 was the last one btw

thanks mate, i'll grab it, install it and see how it goes (i'm in the flight training loop right now so i won't be able to test all the ships for a bit yet)

Just tested, I have the same problem. Unfortunately, I can't downgrade, the only driver that supports my card is the 169 series

Has been working over here perfectly fine.
There was a 169.25 WHQL available, but it seems to now be just a Vista driver.
Just put in my GT's as well, so yeah, 169.xx are the only options for us.
