Sorry about the block capitals but I really need to get your attention. If you have files you wish to be included in TBP 3.4b (likely to be the last ever release) then tell me what they are now. Even if you've mentioned them before. Don't assume I have included everything that has ever been mentioned in this forum. I do not have super human powers of observation and I have a life beyond compiling TBP vp files. So if you want to ensure your updates are included in the final release. MENTION THEM NOW. If you don't and they aren't included you only have yourself to blame.
Oh and... you have a few days tops to respond.

The Hand of GOD. Well, I guess I know what I'll be learning how to do today... :doubt: Let's see how fast I can model and texture, and then implement all the other ships that got kinda nixed (Soul Hunters, Walkers, Technomage, Streibs, Ipsha Battle Globe, Abbai Gunship (there were concept sketches of this for Into the Fire). A View From a Gallery aliens, any random ships from Crusade, Enfalli, Liandra, (sigh), the Valen.
Honestly, if there are any ships that would get worked on at all, it would be the Hand, Liandra, Walkers (seeing how they are the only First Ones that weren't integrated in yet), then the Technomage Shuttle (I know someone wanted this ship), and Streibs. Also forgot about the Crusade shipyard, Maintenance Fury, Haz'Mat platforms, and Thirdspace jumpgate.
Meh, honestly, though, maybe I could just release this stuff as some kind of after TBP expansion set. I don't know anything about coding so, I don't know how to go about implementing Thirdspace, that lightning vortex that the Walkers use, or even how to make the Shadows phase in (rather than just having them appear without a transition from hyperspace to realspace).

Unless you can model, texture, and convert models faster than anyone I've ever seen, I'd say that's an extremely sensible idea.

Those are things you can request from the SCP if you're making progress with the other stuff. As long as it looks like it will get used then we won't say no. When we'll have time is another matter.

lol, well, I'd rather have content that's close to being ready that would use those features rather than just say, hey that's cool! and waste everyone else's time. As far as the Hand ship goes, it's a matter of baking the procedurals into the UV map, getting it converted (which I have never done before, so this should be interesting), oh, and also generate some LODs as well as a debris model. And then I still have to implement some new weapons effects which is another can of worms.
I wouldn't ask for any new Jump Point / hyperspace effects until the actual ships that use them become closer to a reality, though maybe something could be done for the Shadow vessels so they can 'phase in' and 'phase out' as they've been in-game for a while now.

In my mission I was just playing where I was gliding with the Thunderbolt I pressed Shift+R and Gen Lefcourt popped up and I heard "Support ship in transit, stand by". What is is with your installation dude? :)

was talking about the voice files for the pilot. When you disable the command messages and then call in for support, you SHOULD here the pilot talking but you only SEE the message. Try FH2259 Mission 2 for an example!

And are you certain the voice is actually not recorded? I don't think I ever tried the silencing command options out with support ships. It's possible I missed something. If I did I'd rather get it fixed now than later.

v3.4b installer will be released before the DVD and the v1.1 will be released on the DVD. So this means you can get the v3.4b installer and still have time to get the new campaign finished before the DVD with Campaign Pack v1.1 is released.

Nope, just install over the top if you wish :)
The v3.4b installer will included a tiny utility (bat file) that will clean up any loose 3.4a files.

Yes I thought you did that as part of the EMW upgrade to 3.4. So I was a bit confused too. Don't worry I will look carefully at what was send compared to what we have.

Umm... Do you guys want a landscape model? I made one for Wing Commander Saga if you want it. Just note that you'll need to make some new textures for it, since I really suck at 2D texture art. :P

I think I'll pass. Though you could start a seperate thread offering it to campaign designers here. Since they can just package it with their campaigns. ;)

Ian, please check out the "dhcarrierh.pof" file, LODs 2,3 and 4 have deviation from zero point.

You're assuming I've done some work on the core since the last release. I haven't. My life is extremely busy. I have very little time for TBP. But in the absence of anyone else being willing to complete the work on finishing the mod, I try to find the time to do it myself. On the understanding that people do not complain and assume I have enough time to treat working on TBP like a second job. :(

well, if it's any consolation, I can get the Hand Brittlestar in TBP, however, getting a working version is something different.
Btw, is there a reason I can't seem to get the animated texture working? I just copied the Shadowa.eff and renamed it handa.eff and have my .dds files set up correctly, i.e. handa_0000.dds - handa_0019.dds. Is there anything else I have to fix?
Also, something absurdly stupid, but how do you organize your submodels in Max so everthing is parented so everything is in an appropriate hierarchy in PCS? I'm not really as fluent in some of the more subtle aspects of Max (being primarily a Maya user and all), so I'm having just a little bit of difficulty with this (I have been following Styxx's POF Conversion Plugin tutorial, but somethings just escape me).
Then there's this little matter of beta-testing to make sure the Brittlestar is properly balanced.... If anyone's interested, send me a PM.

You'll have to have it done within the next few days if you want it in the core. That means flying with level of detail models and weapons. Otherwise just release it as a seperately for people to use in their campaigns.

Open the eff file in notepad.

I'm a truespace modeller. I only know how to set up the hierarchy for that. Google freespace ship creation guide. The hierarchy is discussed in there. If you need further help with this can I ask you respectfully (since you are making very pretty ships) to ask in the Freespace modding forum. I need to keep this thread on topic as I'm just about ready to build the next, and again, hopefully final release.

As far as the actual ship status goes, I've already got the LOD and debris models built.
