Title: Flying Some Shivan Ships

Hey, all. Here and there on Hard Light and FreeSpace Wiki, I note that it may be possible to fly Shivan ships in FreeSpace 2 by modifying the tablefiles. Can anyone help me on this? :nervous:

However, if you just want to fly the ships as they are and don't want to bother with the other stuff, you just have to add "player_ship" to the ships.tbl flags and "Player allowed" to the weapons.tbl flags and stick the modified tables somewhere.

Or try the Shivan Data Files made by BlackHole . He had a 4-5 mission mini-campaign for it also , but I don't know where to download it anymore .

But Flaming_Sword's mod is much better ^^

Yes then you are ALLOWED to fly the ships but in order to actually FLY them then you have to go into Fred and either make a mission or edit and existing mission to put it in.

By "ship" you mean spacecraft or warships?

Well, you might also be interested on flying Ancient ships...like the AJ Androgeos :P

If you just want a cheap thrill and don't want to make a mod, using this event helps:

-change-ship-class
--Alpha 1
--<Shivan ship>
