Well...back again to annoy all you modelers and texturers. Well, my ship is in game, again thanks to getter robo for the help. But now i have another problem...I can't figure out what he did to texture my ship. Actually i take that back. I know what he did, and how he did it. but for some ungodly reason, I CAN'T DUPLICATE IT. My first in game creation is a VERY blocky version of a mark 2 viper from battlestar galactica. I modeled it in about 20 minutes (I am a slow worker). Now i have tried to UV map and texture this ship in tons of different ways including following the simple texture thread on the modding boards, volition watch's own tutorials, as well as various other tutorials scattered here and there. But as much as i try, i am unable to do it.
I humbly request the assistance of a texturer to texture my model in a classic bsg paint job. I can handle everything else. I just need help texturing this thing. Let me know if you can help and i'll either upload or send you the file(s). thanks again.

Once you can handle simple, re-read some of the tutorials you found for more ideas.

okay...i see where you're coming from here. and i understand the tutorial. So as a quick question. I take my UV map from lithunwrap, then just draw over it and save as pcx? The biggest question is...what size do i save the map e.g. what is the largest texture fs2 retail can handle?

2048 I believe (in powers of 2)
512 x 512 is best for MOST textures but for really nice detail I would say 1024 if you got details you really want to stand out...

and save as pcx?
As indexed 256 colour PCX. Freespace dosen't like 24bit pcx

i give up. i tried every thing i could think of to get it mapped and ingame. getter robo quick texture works. but i cant seem to get mine to work. I think i'll stick to modeling and pof-ing. texturing i think is way over my head. If anyone is willing to take on a very simple fighter (less than 300 poly) i'd be greatly appreciated.
