Yep competitive gaming, particularly StarCraft, is a huge phenomenon in South Korea. Do some searches on YouTube and you'll find out more than you'd probably want to know about it :)
-
heck... they have a thing called "StarCraft TV" ware they broadcast pro matches every few months and such

Hate to make you sound stupid or anything but, how long have you been playing online games? :wtf: its common knowledge, much like the fact that everyone here, at at least one point in their lives has whipped the lizard to this kind of stuff:
Don't know about you, but I have nothing against cat-woman: ;7 ;7 ;7 ;7

its ok ,i havent been playing for long this is true,but i think its worth a listen ,the program talks about the level of addiction , the 12hr training daily for samsungs team, and game related deaths and the radical new anti addiction camps that the state is now funding, all in all i thought it was a vision of a country where the government hopes that within the next ten years every house has its own robot;

Would you mind cutting it out with the post signing, already? It's getting annoying.

Gotta love the Koreans and Japanese! :D
They sleep with the Pc's under their pillow and are kinky as hell.
I'm moving to Japan. It's the promised land for every computer geek.
EDIT: Meeeeeeeooooowww! ;7

Actually no.
The Japanese are extremely racist. Most people are "normal" according to western standards, and people who watch anime over the age of 10 are considered weird.
Computers are used to a great degree for social networking, not for serious gaming.
-
I know..they even have a word for outsider that come to live in japan. Not easy to feel like you fit.
Korea might be a better choice. But then again, japs are more kinky. ;7

Most of the starcraft matches are in Korean though... there's a user on Youtube called KlazartSC who does English commentaries on Pro Starcraft matches; he's pretty fun to listen to. There's a couple other English commentators, but I forget their screennames at the moment...
Yes, I've watched quite a few of these commented matches... some of them are very funny though (SCV rush!), and you can get some good ideas for strategy from them.

yeah in starcraft there's no such thing as a korean noob
-
WRONG. I know one, though she wasnt born in korea and doesnt play often

FYI, since I seem to recall you're not a native English speaker, "japs" is a derogatory racist term for people of Japanese decent in North American (and perhaps British?) cultures. Not something you want to write into everyday conversation.
But yeah, Japanese society has an unusual sexual cultural undercurrent ("perverted," as a Japanese professor of mine once said).

Perhaps this thread title should be changed to Japenese fetishes? :P
