Well, I think there isn't much need for a patch, when the final version won't take us much longer than a patch.
So I decided to skip the patches. There will be a short internal test before the release though.
As long as I get some help from (maybe Wanderer and VasudanAdmrial..?), the table and pof problems that were hard for me to fix, or take very long, won't be a problem anymore. ;)
I just wanted to announce this, so you don't wait for the patch I talked about earlier in the MV 3.6.10 thread.

Yeah (they have technically been in all the time...).
Only thing i have been wondering is that should mediavps partially use tbls or just purely tbms. I guess 'pure tbm' approach is better as people who dislike the changes can still 'null' them by placing appropriately named tbms into their mod directories.

I guess that means that now, that my computer is damaged, I won`t be able to finish my new tac model in time.
What nebulas have been in the mvp`s in the past? cause i always saw some beautiful textures without using the adveffects.vp. I even liked them more the the adveffect ones and found them to look moer highres. I´m not entirely sure about this though and can`t confirm it in the moment.

Yes the hi-res versions of the nebulae are very nice looking. But, download the modified missions that have support for lightspeed's nebulae.

Well, this only works in singleplayer. Since these are presumably going to be used on FS2Net, it's important to make sure all the issues are fixed before the official release (for example, that Maxim/Circe thing I brought up in the other thread). The central server wouldn't recognize any custom tbms in multiplayer.

fighting on fs2netd with the a mod loaded will say you have hacked tables. You can do it oh sure, but it wont save your pilot stats after the match if you do.

This media VP set is supposed to change all that, as they will be recognized by the FS2Net server. (last I heard, anyway)

They will be. FS2NetD has been able to deal with TBMs for a while now. What was stopping us was the lack of an official set of VPs to recognise.

so.. are the official 3.6.10's supposed to be sporting LS's nebulae in the missions, or back to retail?

Yeah talk about something i posted already in tureys installer thread. It's a little hard to get a hold of lightspeedsnebulae vp and not many people know that you need the modified missions in fs2 to utilize the nebula vp. I'd imagine by now that the modified missions with lightspeeds nebulae would be standard part of the vp's or something, or at least easier to make work or would be even cooler if they're integrated.

they must have been in 3.6.9 - because i didn't have anything other than mv_*.vp and mp-71-_*.vp in my mediavps

yup.. lightspeeds nebulae were in mv_adveffects.vp 3.6.8 zeta

Perhaps my reading comprehension and aptitude is a bit low, but I believe the title of the thread CLEARLY STATES that there will be no patch.
Be patient. I'm sure they are waiting for the 3.6.10 source code to finalize before they release the mediavps for it.

Not to mention the fact that it is likely there are still problems with the VPs that haven't been fixed yet. Many of the models have holey collision detection, and I think that they are waiting for PCS2 Final to fix them.
