Much as I enjoy Battlefield... is this really going to work? I mean, at first glance it's Team Fortress 2 set in World War 2. Need proof?

Why not compare the heavy weapons guy in the little box at the bottom of that image, with the big soldier bloke from BF:Heros?

That's exactly my first thoughts of this aswell. EA saw the popularity of TF2 and decided to use it... perhaps.

Well anyway, I don't keep my hopes up.

I still do play BF2, perhaps not the main game as much anymore as before but all the nice mods keep it alive (Reality, Forgotten Hope 2...). But still, I might try thsi new one. You never know.

Kalfireth (and everyone else) I direct you to this weeks episode of GFW Radio (http://download.gamevideos.com/Podcasts/CGW/012308.mp3). Its the podcast for the magazine where the story/preview is debuting. It might give you some insight on the story and reaction.

I might give it a whirl....but BF2 and its gritty realism is more the kind of style that I'm looking for.  Haven't found a good replacement for BF2 yet actually.
