ok, after looking about apparently tom is at it again (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20080118.WBmingram20080118144345/WBStory/WBmingram), and tCoS has been trying to get the video removed from the internet, and finding it rather difficult to do, but that hasn't stopped them from trying, and in reaction to this it seems someone(s) has launched a DDoS attack on tCoS's website. and in reaction to THAT tCoS has put a bounty on the guy's head.

Aaaand the pages to which the Digg points www.religiousfreedomwatch.org (http://www.religiousfreedomwatch.org/media-newsroom/5000-reward/)) are down. :nervous:
Either a Digg effect (although I doubt it due to relatively low number of Diggs), or someone is DDosing it, or there's something else broken. But judging by past occurrecnes, the chances are that the pages being down is related to this, in some way or other.
EDIT: Oh, it is a scientology site, brought down by the anons.
The name kinda fooled me to think it would, you know, have something to do with religious freedom (unlike scientology).

I was just thinking after talking to some people, could anonymous's decentralized horde of members and their actions in this matter be described as a stand alone complex? It's been a little while since I watched Ghost in the Shell, but this almost seems to qualify from what I know of the happenings.

I don't think so.
It's probably a bunch of 4chan guys who decided to do it together. A Stand Alone Complex is possible, but highly unlikely.
Publiscizing the issue however, you could interpert that as the SAC due to the individual digging and commenting making it a focused common effort by people unrelated.

I like watching them give e-meter tests, so you get a feel for how they work, and then taking one so you should "pass" and have them try to explain how it means something different.
