Do they make a max 9 exporter for freespace? I just recently got back into the 3d work realm, decided to make some ships or whatever for freespace 2.
-
Unfortunatly, no there isnt an exporter for max9 :(
-
Ah damn.. Guess that puts a dampener on my project doesnt it. -.-
-
you could use pcs.
-
PCS?
-
Tempted to just post my work in max9, and perhaps collaborate with someone who knows how to use the other modeling programs(i'm avoiding an earlier form of max.. the idea just doesnt sit with me), using whatever models i make as references or whatever. That or just making some shiny eye-candy to look at.. Whatev.
-
pcs is a model converter. cob--->pof.

ahh, will it convert .max, or do i have to find another kind of converter or something.. I just finished this relatively sweet model, no skin but here it is:

I also havent blasted it with a smoother at all yet, so its a little sharp for right now.

you might. can you save as 3ds?
-
Yes i can

you will need truspace 3.2 (freeware) and lithunwrap (also freeware). I'll post a link in a sec.

check for viruses as I am not to sure about the uploader, probably fine though.

Thanks, as soon as i'm home from the shop i'll check those out.

trueSpace 3.2 is rather "under featured" compared to newer versions. 6.6 is quite nice. They FUBARed the user interface something awful in version 7. You'll find the UI rather odd in 3.2- trueSpace (like Lightwave) was originally an Amiga program.

An alternative to lithunwrap is 3d Exploration, it can convert 3ds to cob to.
