If you name a ship for example "Orion#Galatea", everything behind the # does not appear inGame. But it does in the tech database s far as I can see. Is there any way to avoid this effect?

If you don't add the ''in tech database'' flag you won't be able to see it anyway, unless you use ctrl+shift+s but you aren't supposed to do that.
-
What are you doing that requires a duplicate entry anyway? Many of the things that made it necessary in FS2 Retail have been worked around in Open.

I saw this glitch in a mod where there was an orion in the tech database called Orion#mk2 or something like that. Can't remember which mod.

In the FSPort, all ships that appear in the FS2 ships.tbl are in the tech database from the beginning, even without a tech-add-sexp. That's why I renamed them into "Hercules#1", "Ulysses#2" and so on.

Try it with a new pilot after editing the table to make sure that they don't have 'in tech database' and see if that's still the case.

Ok, with the new pilot the FS2 ships do no longer appear in the database. Omg, that means renaiming everything again. :wtf: I hate my life.
