PINF = POF INFO - all other POF compilers identify themself with a string in the PINF.  Every model i've seen with a blank PINF (indicating the MAX exporter) have problems.

don't ever use the max exporter again.. i can say for certain now it produces very bad models

Got an alternative or fixed exporter than, or just another declaration?

o_O Are you out of your flipping mind? What's wrong with it? The Max exporter is the greatest thing ever to happen to me Freespace modding. I will never touch TrueSpace again as long as I live.

Won't recompiling the POF with PCS2 solve many of the problems (including collision detection)?  Plus, I believe PCS2 will eventually get 3DS import.

I think a .3ds support for pcs2 would be the best option, i made some ship with 3ds max 8 and can not export them with the plug in, and i m not really enthusiast with using truespace to export it.

nope, i tried - the max exporter hoses things so bad a simple recompile cannot clean it up

yes apparently i am

 What's wrong with it?

it ****s up model-wide coordinate space

until a replacement comes along for the max exporter, you're going to have to

because right now i'm going to recommend to FSURP to reject all models from the max exporter until they've been thoroughly inspected in the PCS 2.0 final one it's out

We're not rejecting them - I've been fixing them in Blender. Currently ghost-busting the Aten, cos it had no collision detection whatsoever. :)

I'll have the rest sorted by the actual release if all goes to plan.

Finally! It always annoys me when my Harbingers fly right through it.

if you can export them from max into blender and fix them then good

still means the max exporter should not be used

Unfortunately, yeah I have to agree.

If you want to produce good and solid release models, you shouldn't use the pof exporter. :(

Isn't that one of the signs of the coming apocalypse right there? :p
