I was just wondering what people's favorite secondaries were for FSport. plz include a post giving your reasons. :)

I love hornets and interceptors. I like the swarm factor of the hornet and i just like the interceptor...Oh, and Titan, I was reading the goldfish wiki page and they have memories that last 3 months, so that's a pretty good attention span...

Furies because them + lasers = death for enemy fighters. A lot of newbies underestimate the Fury. It didn't get that name for nothing you know.
Interceptors because... well, they work. Better than most.
Phoenix V also makes my list due to being powerful.
I've never liked swarmers of any kind... because individually they are weak, and they never ever EVER hit the target with more than like two of them. They work better against capships though.
And, lenard, not to nitpick, but although a goldfish's memory last 3 months (how the hell did they measure that anyway?), I doubt their attention span lasts longer than a few minutes. Human memories have lengths of over 100 years (assuming of course that the human lives that long), but that doesn't mean the human was paying attention to one thing for that entire time, does it? :p

He's limiting it to the Port (ie, no Trebuchets).

Also, the Port has secondaries not included in FS1, such as the Fang, Havoc, and Barracuda. (Although they seem to have been left out of the poll.)

I thought most of the FS1 secondaries were pretty worthless, apart from the bombs. You really had to rely on primaries to get kills. The interceptors and furies were okay, although nowhere in the same league as their FS2 counterparts.

i left those out because you can never use them in the game.

i left those out because you can never use them in the game.
You can use them in mods that use the Port. Shrouding the Light, for example.

I love the swarm effect of the Hornet especially against freighters, transports etc because unlike bombs, they are unstoppable.
Like 3 apollo wings swarming a lilith (FS1) it is dead meat.

You can kill any capital ship with a pea shooter in FS1 if you keep moving so you don't get hit by the slug-speed moving blob turrent s.
Edit: Whoops. Typo. but i think i won't change it :P

I strongly dislike the bad aspect seeking of FS1... but considering that this last round of cannon campaigning I started with FS2, it was annoying to have my interceptors missing all the time. But for FS1, it's gotta be Int, Phoenix, Harb. Int because it's the only secondary that has a chance of hitting a fighter (Hornets are good for freighter frying, cruiser capping and short range bomber blasting, but other than that, they're worthless. 'tis why I stay away from hornets in FS2... Tornado will do the job, however). Int's unlike harpoons however, won't take down a fighter, even with dual fire. Phoenix V is decent... i've used them against dragons coming out of the Lucifer to good effect, but I miss the 3klick range of Trebs. Finally, Harbs are hands down the best anti capship weapon in FS1 and I've enjoyed taking down Demons with them... Also it's the only reason I ever won ST.

Oh, they will. You just need dual fire and a weak target, such as a Horus.

True... but the Horus isn't fought all that often. Take for example the Scorpion. On Hard, a full armor and shielded Scorpion will be reduced to 50 armor from dual interceptors. FS1 is definitely a Primary-Bank game.

In dogfights, yeah. But against capships, no.
