Title: Look, A Female!
Post by: Rian on February 02, 2008, 11:57:57 pm
Not over there, right here.

I get any "whoa, itza gurl" remarks and you are forever a monkey to me.

Anyway, General Battuta tells me female voice actors are in short supply. Add me to the list.

I've got voice samples [edit: on request] for any of you gentlefolks who might be interested. (If you're wondering why some lines are repeated, that's just because I felt like it.)

The second sample is an audition for the role of Samantha Tess in Silent Threat: Reborn – Goober, if you want this somewhere else, I'd be happy to oblige.

(post title edited because apparently my sense of humor isn't universal)

Edit: New samples attached.

I am pleasantly surprised. These are, in fact, quality voice acting samples. I particularly like the accent. It has the clipped, detached tone I'd expect of a professional, along with good inflection and a hint of urgency at times.

There's a bit of microphone hiss. Maybe someone can provide tips on how to prevent that?

I will leave it up to someone else to do a real welcome.

whoa, itza gurl!!!!11

(Hey, don't complain; you echoed that very statement in the title of this thread. :D)

Those are some quality samples right there, Rian.  Thanks for auditioning. :) The role of Admiral Tess is already cast and filled, but I'd be delighted to use you in one of the other roles, if that's okay with you.

And btw, :welcome:

Whoa, it’s a monkey!

Haw haw, just kidding. Thanks for the welcome! I'd be glad to try out anything you'd like to send me. (Is the sound quality of the samples satisfactory, or do you have suggestions for improving it?)

Also, Battuta has to say that because he put me up to it. *grin*

Cool.  The sound quality is good.  I'll send you some stuff as soon as I put it together.

Oblig.  Star Wars quote:  "Now there are two of them!"  Referring to the other female voice actor that joined a couple weeks ago.

Enough already! I knew that. I was just throwing that punchline in, since VA is used as an acronym of Vasudan Admiral more often than as an acronym of Voice Actor.

Vomitous Animal.

K, before an infuriated boyfriend/husband arrives and beats me up, I shall attempt to defend myself by stating that I wasn't directing that suggestion towards Rian but merely thinking about more words fitting the acronym VA. In general. Out loud. Please don't hurt me. I'm poor and about to lose my shack.

No offense taken: I'm not feeling any Vicious Antipathy. Should I feel the need to Vent Annoyance, it will be in a Violence Absent manner.

There. Mature enough for you?

But seriously. I'm willing to discuss a civilized subject. I'd be particularly interested in discussing global problems and how all of them are eventually caused by healthcare and medicine industry.

I was refering to other projects who need voice acting. Does ST:R take precendece over, I don't know, WSCP? Are you close to the end or you can wait a little more?

I actually got the Warzone SCP lines first, so I've been working on those.

On that note, though, is there a specific time frame in which I should be aiming to get these done? I've been experimenting, but I'm not quite satisfied yet with what I've done so far.

Mobius, your sig is a dirty lie. "Partially approved?" The other portion was a threadlock and calling your rules ridiculous and immature!
Title: Re: Look, A Female!

Yeah, but I guess it's still a portion, no matter how small. But he wants to make a competition out of the welcoming procedure. Some people welcome newcomers here, but Moby actually counts how many welcomes he has succesfully delivered.

Check your PMs ;)

Nice question. It would be good to play the old version of the campaign if possible. For now, create the files without paying so much attention on the time frame as missions can be easily adapted.

What...? That is offtopic! "Partially" approved...that's true(and the thread would have been locked, anyway).

Yeah, but I guess it's still a portion, no matter how small. But he wants to make a competition out of the welcoming procedure. Some people welcome newcomers here, but Moby actually counts how many welcomes he has succesfully delivered.

Someone told me to do that, I didn't start the "competition".

Since Administrators play with my e-penis I go for something they can't play with :P
