Title: OK I am STARTING from scratch...so I need some help/links:

Guys:

I have been off of Freespace for nearly a year; I have deleted EVERYTHING FS related from my HD & I am interested in playing the 'In the Depths of Hell' campaign in it's entirety; so...where do I begin? I know I have to download FS2 open from somewhere but from where & THEN what do I do? We are talking 'tabula rasa' here...

OK now here is a seriously asinine question:

Do I need to have FS2 already installed to play FS2 'open' or can I just download the whole package as part of the open install?

Having FS2 installed saves bandwidth, which we need, and time, which you like... so if you have FS1 and or the FS2 retail disks, read the walkthrough in my signature.  (Or even if you have neither, you can use it, just you won't get any bandwidth savings. ;) )

just use the "tooth fairy's" installer

the installer can be found on the first link i gave you

this will install all you need and will install fs2 , fs open etc.....; just tick the everything with extra cheese box, this will take a while,3.5gb ish.......;

then if u want u can down load the  new mediavps............

OK thanks...Man I had forgotten how long 3.5 Gig takes to download; Alrighty then, I'm off to play 'In the Gates of Hell'...IF I have ANY Problems I'll be posting again---which is to say I PROBABLY will be posting again in a few minutes!  :p
