In specific, I only seem to be able to load up the MediaVPS missions -- whose .fs2 files are mysteriously absent.
I attribute this to the files likely being tucked away in the VPS package in the VPS folder.
Still, that doesn't really help me save a mission directly from FRED2 to the Freespace2 directory. I've seen a lot of
references to the Retail version of FS2 wanting the files in the (freespace2\data\missions) folder but then I almost always
see a follow-up post indicating that method is obsolete and is no longer required.
So when I save my mission to (freespace2\data\) there is no mission available through the Tech Room. Do I have to create
the (\missions) folder myself and manually re-locate the file I saved or is there some other method you all are using?
I would appreciate a quick reply. (<60 min.)

If the mission is for standard FS2 then it should be in the data\missions folder. If it's for a mod then it should be in the <mod>\data\missions folder. Campaign missions will not show up in the tech room until you beat them in the campaign. If it's a standalone mission make sure you click on the button to toggle between regular and campaign missions in the tech room. It defaults to campaign missions.

Wow! I was expecting a much longer period of time until someone posted.
I just attempted your method and, as you say, it works beautifully. Now that I know how to save
my missions, it's off to the tutorial again for me. Well, and maybe some more SpaceBuild Modelpack
modeling.
On a completely unrelated note: I hope nobody plays Garry's Mod 10 around here. :nervous:

Appreciation is one thing; reality is another. But not to worry. We are fast here at HLP. Also,
