Hi,
first: Sorry for my bad English! ;)
The last time i was modding Freespace 2, is nearly 8 years ago...
Now i am testing Freespace 2 Open.
But the Moddingprograms from fs2open are to old?!
What do i need to "create" shields???
I want to make a simple mod: A Capship with shields.
My old Mod was working well, but i can't get it to work now.
I have used "Segeltuch" to generate shields.
But now the program crashes if i want to generate the pof-file.
Modelviewer32 is not really better, it make problems to.
And the mv32 can not create shields only import them.
What do i need to get my shielded capship back?
With a good shield and more than 20 "faces".
I have a perfect shield but in segeltuch .fprj
Does anyone have a working segeltuch?
Can somebody please help?
Sorry again for my terrible English! My Klingon is better! :D :D :D
bye

Segeltuch = dead and never stable - always created bad models
Modelview = garbage
use PCS2 - latest release candidate build in my sig
to create shields make a group in truespace named "shield" and the geometry in that (MUST BE TRIANGULATED) will be made into the shield by PCS2

Hi again,
thanks for the answer.
Working on Freespace was easy years ago.
But now, i cant get something together.
Truespace and PCS 2.0?! :shaking:
Truespace is a strange program.
And PCS says: Editing of shields is currently unavailable!
Im to stupid to use these programs. :sigh:
bye

you have to make shields in truespace - a special subobject named "Shield" which must be triangulated.
