Sure I've seen similar comparisons like this before on this site... one with a Boeing 747 or something as a real-world size reference. I like this kind of thing, personally.

This is a mighty fine comparison. What I'm asking about is how you got the ships exactly in profile perspective?

thats absolutely no problem with a 3d-program. you just choose the flat-side-projection (where you also model) as render-camera....

for sure......! especially when we take into consideration, that i did a big scale-problem. the carrier-deck was something about 100 m too long ;) not i built the deck according a blueprint and the scale fits now......so the ursa is much bigger:

a little. the fenris is also a bit bigger, but from this perspective only slightly.....so the impression is nearly the same.....

When you next get re-armed in an GTB Ursa, use the * to look from a third-person perspective. That shows how much bigger it is, when you think that a GTS Centaur isn't much bigger than your average fighter...

The size of the terran fighter's cockpit and the aircraft's cockpit are not of scale... unless they are flown by giants... can we shrink the size of ship fighter models? (in-game)

Wow. I always imagined the Orion as roughly equivalent to an aircraft carrier but that blows me away. Only the cruisers come close.

hehe....the orion is 2 km long, means 6 carriers as shown here. the lucy is even 2 carrier length longer......

How big is the Death Star compared to a Juggernaught? It's supposed to be like... 160 KM diameter... so that makes it like... 30 times the size of the Colossus... and many many times the voleume.

One thing I noticed is that they neglected to include one very large ship: Think a n00b FRED mission, what do they often focus on. As well, they forgot some big shadow planet thing from B5.

:rolleyes: There is a point where bigger ships just become pointless. Any modeler can make a bigger ship. Any tabler can make a bigger uber-mega-wtf beam, but a truely special, well modeled and textured ship is much more interesting.
