In short (in essence really) all it is> a half page review slating sierras attempt. And where it suggests an alternate it says "beyond the red line" it's still doubleplusgood to know that the best mag on the planet knows we're here and Not Derek Smart hasn't been mentioned in god knows how long. :D

Kara posted a pic of it in the BtRL forum. I'll go dig it up in a bit.

Awesome review. Looks like something Derek could cook up. And that's if he had a coke machine to help him. :D

Why do such fantastic franchises for movies, tv and existing games get given to such crappy teams and given crappy support? Bad games dont sell well. Why waste the money to begin with? WHY NOT MAKE SOMETHING OF A FRANCHISE THAT WILL SELL SO WELL!!?

Sorry. Congrats on another honourable mention BTRL team.

To be fair to Auran from what I hear they actually had to fight with the publisher to get to make it even slightly 3D.

Auran, you mean the Aussie group who went bust after Fury? If so then that explains a lot. Kinda looks like they spent a week on it. Its not listed anywhere on their site.

A demo of a community driven project trouncing a profit driven commercial game! Classic!

Because a hot "IP" will move games licensed from it even if the games suck more than a porn star. Generally the people who license franchises for games will pick whoever wants the smallest budget. They don't care about how good the game is. They might not have ever played a video game in their entire lives. Games are nothing but money to them.

isn't this the kind of thing that's likely to result in a CaD ?

I must have totally missed something. I read the whole article but, BTRL is HLP's FS2 mod of BSG. This is a game review of a non FS2 engine BSG Game, not MOD. And this is totally kicking the game in the balls. So how is this a honerable mention, when it does not mention Our version, much less if it did, say anything good about it?

If this review was about our version this is a 'it sucks ass' and a 'it should be shot' review, wrather then a honerable mention. And IIRC our version is kick ass so what did i miss?

You missed the fact that on the bottom of the page, BtRL is listed as an alternative to this crappy game.

Ah i see now. Why would the cite BTRL without giving a link to\for it?

They don't link to any game they recommend as an alternative. They expect you either to have heard of it or simply use Google.

Yea, its pretty straight forward. Anyone who reads the review, is interested in BSG and then is disappointed by the games quality will probably take note of the alternative. At which point they might start to investigate BTRL.

It was also mentioned in Pc Gamer U.S. awhile back. I'm not sure which issue it was, I was doing some cleaning and threw out all my old issues. But I say congrats.
