My favorite from the FAQ:
Q: "Why doesn't water run off the Earth?"
A: There is a vast ice wall that keeps the water where it is. This explains why you can find a vast plane of ice when you travel south. The height of the Ice Wall is hotly debated. Several possible models exist and are supported by different FE proponents:
- The Ice Wall (possibly synoymous with the Ross Ice Shelf) is 150 feet tall, and holds in the oceans. Atmosphere/atmolayer is either contained by another means or is universal.
- The Ice Wall is between 40 and 50 thousand feet high, and holds in not only the world's oceans, but 40000-50000 feet of atmolayer as well.
Antarctica as a continent does not exist - rather it is a ring of ice around the entire circumference of the Earth..
500 years after Columbus we still have these people. I read somewhere else sometime ago there is a congressman from Texas who believes this stuff..........

Lmao...
Apparently most of them don't actually believe in it, I hope..

Username does, though :(

We shouldn't bother them I'm sure they have enough ass holes posting threads around there.
-
Apparently these people haven't taken a very close look at any satellite images. Sure they can say the Earth is circular in shape, but I can only hope they would have noticed half of it missing on any particular satellite photo...
-
They would probably say that the satellite photos were faked by the government (CONSPIRACY!).
-
that damn government,...always conspireing sumtin'

That's what they actually say on that forum :blah:

Why don't we fall through the bottom when we mine for gold/oil/carrots/pirate treasure?
-
Let's feed the trolls.
-
No need to. The site is a huge joke.

--EPIC LONG PRO-FLAT EARTH POST--
The response?
"Because they're not giant ****ing retards like you."
  pwned!

Shuddap!
Everyone knows the Earth is flat...and that the Moon is made of cheese..and that Elvis is still alive.
Only redniks believe otherwise!
-
Hey! not only am I a nerd but I am also a redneck. I live 30 miles from the nearest town for-crying-out-loud! Don't insult me! *Don't worry, I'm not really offended, this is just a funny*

Unless you have the boots/plaid shirts/holey jeans/Stetson to prove it, I call bullocks! :p

And an old mustang in your yard. And you invite neighbors over to look at your new front door.

Well, I have everything but the nasty old jeans, they all got too small. I even have a pair of chinks (smaller version of chaps) Comes in handy when riding through thick brush. Make sure to duck if you ever ride through the thick willows by the creek. Branches and eyes don't mix. :arrr:

These people are stupid. Or ironic. But one way or another its silly...like allot of other things. My tolerance for this stuff continues to diminish as the evidence is very apparent.

I hear ya.

I'm stirring the point anyway.
Their site doesn't indicate a plausible flat-earth explanation for the horizon effect on the ocean and the approximate 12 mile distance at which curvature becomes visible. Unfortunately their registration doesn't work for me so I can't demand an answer. Someone else bait them :P
-
I know it's wrong to hate people cause their different, but this is ridiculous.
We should fire them into space with a cannon without a space suit. For the 15 seconds they live in the vacuum of space, they can see the earth and then tell us it isn't flat.
I wonder what kills you first when your in space with no suit: the pressure or the cold?
Of course, there is the cosmic radiation, and not to mention the lack of air.
They can tell us that after they tell us the earth is round :P
-
But won't they be dead from one of those things?
-
It can't be real... can it?

Decompression gets you, but you don't explode; you can actually survive about 90 seconds of exposure to 0 atm of pressure. Cold is less of a problem, because the only way to lose heat is through radiation since you're surrounded by vacuum.

So, would the portrayal of vacuum exposure in the movie Sunshine be a reasonably accurate depiction?
-
I believe event horizon is my favourite rendition. Looked cool to boot! Horizon wins over pancake earth theory every time :)

You really won't do anything at all special. Eventually, the vacuum will dessicate and mummify you, but that's eventually. You'll flail around a bit, probably show some cyanosis (turn blue) after you stop and black out, and then you'll just look very...peaceful.
The Russians lost some cosmonauts to a faulty valve once, so we're pretty sure we know what it looks like.
