Title: Question: How to you create .vp files?
Post by: Redstreblo on February 24, 2008, 12:08:29 pm
Hi, I have just created a misson that involves custom models and stuff. I would like to put these files in one package for easy downloading, so that I don't force people to download multiple files just to play one mission. I have downloaded VP Mage and Quick VP, but I cannot figure out how to use them. Neither seem to have a help file, and I cannot find a forum about them.

VP Mage has a pretty confusing layout, but when I finally found where I go to add a file, it says that there is no folder selected. I cannont find out how to create the folder it is looking for.

Quick VP is very simple, I like it alot better than VP Mage because I could see what I was supposed to do. But when I clicked on "Add" nothing happens. The only button that does anything is "Open" and I don't want to open a .vp file, I want to create one. The file menu only contains open, and the About button sends me to a website that is no longer there.

If anyone knows where I can find a working program that can make .vp files, or tell me how to use VP Mage, or Quick VP I would be most grateful!

QuickVP can be a tricky bastard sometimes. I, too, haven't been able to create vps with it. Haven't used VP Mage. I'd recommend Maja. It's pretty easy with it. Just start it up. Create the 'data' folder, and the appropriate subfolders. Then just drag 'n drop the necessary files to their folders and Export Package. And remember to add the .vp extention to the end of the file name.

I use vpmake, since I have everything setup so nicely for making vps.
